Researchers with Beijing Normal University found “several cases of possible technological traces and extraterrestrial civilizations from outside the earth,” according to a report published Tuesday in Science and Technology Daily. China announced that a relescope possibly detected signs of alien civilizations. The Sky Eye (FAST) – the world’s largest radio telescope – which is located in China’s southwestern Guizhou province and has a diameter of 500 meters, received suspicious two sets of suspicious signals in 2020 while processing data collected in 2019, and found another suspicious signal in 2022. They are believed to be artificial, signals from an alien civilization. The news is spreading on the Internet. The matter requires further investigation because the possibility that the suspicious signal is some kind of radio interference is also very high.
The new signals differ from ones captured previously, and the team is investigating them, said Zhang Tonjie, chief scientist of the extraterrestrial civilization search team co-founded by Beijing Normal University, the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the University of California, Berkeley. These narrow-band signals must be picked out from the background noise of other radio emissions that come from deep space. This may be a long process. The signals are certainly not proof of alien life just yet. In fact, Sky Eye is searching for extraterrestrial civilization. The observatory cost was $171 million.
