Space X will continue Sunday its ambitious project to recuperate the launch rocket

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the satellite will fly in a low Earth orbit that will allow it to monitor 95% of the Earth’s ice-free oceans every 10 days. SpaceX has tried and failed to recover a stage of its Falcon 9 rocket on a drone ship (which is basically a barge with a landing platform) at least three times before. By vertically landing the rocket on a pad back on Earth, rocket companies can re-use the stages for other missions instead of allowing the expensive hardware to re-enter the atmosphere. For comparison, that means to cut off more than $50 million to launch a payload to space.
