The exo-planet is often compared to Jupiter because of its size and because of its gas atmosphere. The planet circles its star from a distance 30 times closer than the distance from earth to our sun. This makes things really hot on it unlike Jupiter. The planet’s atmosphere can reach temperatures around 1030 degrees Celsius towards it’s center.
Researchers discovered something is wrong with this “Hot Jupiter” back in April 2010 when no trace of the planet’s atmosphere was seen with the Hubble’s Space Telescope Spectohraph. The planet is the second known evaporating planet we know so far about.
