Mount Everest lost a rocky ridge

. The fact was reported last year and possibly occurred during the 2015 Nepal earthquake. But Everest was not climbed during two seasons, until now, and this is why only now the confirmation occurred. “This year, however, I can report that the chunk of rock named ‘The Hillary Step’ is definitely not there any more,” British climber Tim Mosedale, who reached the summit on May 16, wrote in a Facebook post. The Hillary Step was named after Sir Edmund Hillary, who was the first person, along with Tenzing Norgay, to climb Mount Everest in 1953. The trek will no longer include climbing the almost-vertical rock. However possibly another complication will occur: maybe it will be a only way to finish and climbers will have to attempt a longer time in special weather conditions.
