The first probation for the theory of cosmic inflation


This is at the same time a new perception of the dimension of the infinite, because this  interpretation of the universe accepts the idea that our known cosmos is just a tiny fragment in a much larger frontier extended beyond the reaches of light, far beyond the observable fringes. In other words, and based on the scientific affirmations, just a fraction of a second after the big bang the universe expanded to 100 trillion trillion times its original size which was smaller than an atom. The theory of inflation is rooted in quantum mechanics operating on the subatomic scale. The research team searched for the gravitational waves and polarized light in the cosmic microwave background.
The results of this study were included in the journal “Nature” and according to the radio astronom John Kovac at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, one of the project’s lead scientists, it opens “a new  window on what we believe to be a new regime of physics.”
This is not the end but the beginning of a vast work of completing scientific information. Much remains unknown. The project, known as BICEP2 (for Background Imaging of Cosmic Extragalactic Polarization) also included researchers from Caltech, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Stanford University and the University of Minnesota.
