The search team gave the name Chactun to this Mayan city. The first signal about its existence was given 15 years ago when some aerial photos were analyzed. Now, to discover it at the physical level was not so easy because the jungle is very difficult to cross. Once opened, initially for six weeks, the search will be continued because they want to understand too the relation between Mayan settlements.
As it is well known, the Mayan civilization has a fascinating story. Mayans had important and fascinating knowledge. The Mayan civilization area includes some Mexicans states , the Yucatan Peninsula’s states and at the same time the northern Central American region (such the actual Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador).
