Hunter Biden was indicted Thursday on federal gun charges following Special Counsel David Weiss’ investigation. after he made a false statement in the purchase of a firearm. He was also charged of possession of a firearm (a Colt Cobra 38SPL Revolver) by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance. The gun was purchased in 2018.
The White House declined to comment.”Hunter Biden possessing an unloaded gun for 11 day [sic] was not a threat to public safety, but a prosecutor, with all the power imaginable, bending to political pressure presents a grave threat to our system of justice,” Hunter Biden’s attorney Abbe Lowell said Thursday in a written statement. He also blasted the indictment as politically motivated. Hunter Biden was discharged from the Navy in 2014 after testing positive for cocaine. Hunter Biden is currently in California. If convicted on all counts, he could face up to 25 years in prison and fines of up to $750,000, according to court filings. It is expected he will be charged too soon with tax crimes.
