The Muslim girl's family was told that there were "no Muslim adopters available at all". The mother, who can not be named for legal reasons has some mental health problems. The family would have wanted their child to end up in another Muslim family. Relatives who found about the adoption and applied were not even told why their bids were rejected.
The family was not even informed with how the adoption evolved. Fifty people gathered outside the civic centre and protested. After seeing this the council decided to review the mentioned case and even asked the family to send adopters on Friday.
