Recall initiated for more than 400 food products in America

A possible listeria contamination determined Baltimore-based Fresh Ideation Food Group LLC to initiate a recall for more than 400 food products on sale in several American states (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina,New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia). It;s about sandwiches, salads, fruit cups, snacks, yogurt and wraps sold from Jan. 24, 2023 through Jan. 30, 2023 inclusive in vending machines. All recalled products –which included items like bacon, egg and cheddar muffins, breakfast croissants, tuna and chicken sandwiches, and fruit cups – have a Fresh Creative Cuisine label and/or identifier on the bottom of the label. Several brands are involved: Quick & Fresh, Bistro to Go, Fresh Creative Cuisine White, Westin Label and Orchard Bistro.

Infected people with listeria can have high fever, severe headache, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea but some categories like elderly people or young children can experience severe symptoms when death may occur. An estimated 1,600 Americans get listeriosis each year and about 260 die, according to the CDC.No illnesses have been reported yet before this recall.
