Anyone with specific intolerances or allergies that would have been exposed to one of the recalled products is at a potential health risk. The above mentioned products contain gluten, wheat, hazelnuts, milk or rye and the store will offer a full refund to anybody making the return. This is not the first time this happens to Lidl. Last year the company recalled tinned herring fillets due to concerns that customers were not warned through the product labeling that the tin can contained fish as required by the Food Standards Agency.
Back then the FSA echoed an important warning message and transmitted to anyone with an allergy a list of the ingredients to avoid them: ‘The above products may contain fish, milk, egg, mustard and wheat (gluten) which are not mentioned on the label in English… This means the products may be a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to the allergens listed above.. If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy or intolerance to any of the above allergens, please do not eat it”.
