McDonalds might have already found other suppliers, as hinted in a recent statement, but an official announcement is made it could still be looking for a company to provide Ketchup:
"As a result of recent management changes at Heinz, we have decided to transition our business to other suppliers over time"
A Heinz spokesman declared that the company does not want to comment on this matter as it is a customer relationship topic and commenting on such an issue is against their policy.
McDonald's reportedly uses Heinz ketchup overseas and only in two domestic markets in the US. In rest most of its ketchup packages aren't labeled with a producer but contain tags such as "fancy ketchup".
In comparison Burger King, a company that has been a Heinz customer for some decades, uses Heinz products in most of its markets around the world.
