Sauna bathing may protect both the heart and memory. Saunas are thought to improve circulation and reduce blood pressure. Dr Clare Walton, Research Manager at the Alzheimer’s Society said: “With dementia now the biggest killer across England and Wales, finding ways to reduce the risk of developing the condition is a top priority. Sauna is a small room or building designed as a place to experience dry or wet heat sessions. The Finnish sauna culture is well established; there is a built-in sauna in almost every house in Finland. Sauna bathing isn’t however a common hobby for men in the UK.
