Dr Michael Irwin related that these things have been happening in the UK silently. He admitted knowing about one or two children who have been killed like this over the past years.  The retired doctor explained: "It has been done under the pretext of what we call Double Effect where the child has been given huge doses of painkillers and so on, in order to relieve discomfort, pain and other symptoms."

Dr Irwin is a euthanasia campaigner and he has been investigated in the past numerous times over the charge of assisted suicide. While Belgium has allowed the killing on demand of terminally ill children this is considered by most people as highly unethical. In most countries this is illegal and in UK it's an offence punishable by 14-years in jail.

Anti-euthanasia campaigners have asked that an investigation is made into these recent claims. Dr Irwin on the other hand tells that he won't give in any names to the police if he will be asked.
