In fact, pharmacists who are asked to deliver more than 325 mg of acetaminophen doses will be obliged to contact the specialist who issued the recommendation, having the goal to reduce the acetaminophen administrated to the patients. The 325 mg limit was proved as the acceptable level with minimum negative consequences. More acetaminophen can produce liver failure with dramatic consequences and even death danger. Three years ago, FDA regulators asked drug manufacturers to reduce the amount of acetaminophen in Percocet and Vicodin. The target date to comply reducing the acetaminophen dosage was January 14 and many verified manufacturers understood this. It’s about the fact that some drugs can help but at the same time can even kill people. It should not be an arbitrary choice.
