Their researches are very important, offering the necessary knowledge as support for important medical procedures development and for the pharmaceutical industry. At this time, Prof. Shekman is based on department of molecular and cell biology at the Berkely University of California, Prof. Rothman is a chairman of the department of cell biology at Yale University and Prof. Sudhof is based at Stanford University in California.
Speaking into the honor of those three new Nobel laureate, the vice-president of the Royal Society, Dame Jean Thomas, appreciated their work because (it) “has provided fundamental insights into cellular processes and is also highly relevant to understanding various disease processes.”
