Guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has vocal cord damage after a surgery

His life was saved but the surgery resulted in vocal cord damage. Now the musician is home and is recovering well. His wife says he’s fortunate to be alive, and adds Lindsey’s family has a history with heart issues. His father and brother both died from heart-related illnesses. Lindsey’s wife says it’s unclear if the damage of vocal cords is permanent. Lindsey Adams Buckingham is best known as lead guitarist and one of the vocalists of the music group Fleetwood Mac. Buckingham split from the band last year.

As a solo artist, Buckingham has released six studio albums and has recently embarked on a promotional tour for his new three-disc set “Solo Anthology: The Best of Lindsey Buckingham.” Unlike most rock guitarists, Buckingham does not play with a pick; instead, he picks the strings with his fingers and fingernails. Despite their frayed relationship, Fleetwood Mac expressed support and solidarity with their former bandmate. They wished him a “speedy recovery.” „Our thoughts and love go out to Lindsey and his entire family.”
