Put on your 3D glasses: Metallica 3D movie is being filmed

The downside is that the movie director requests pauses from time to time. Fans don’t seem to mind it.

The first live show was filmed in Mexico City and the second in Vancouver on August 24.

Metallica declared they wanted to make a 3D movie several times this year during different interviews. As expected the fans are part of the show. Their previous live show was held on a 140×50-foot stage at Rogers Arena. Metallica’s frontman James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo as Ulrich put on the biggest metal act in the world.

The 3D movie will cost $20 million, money that will be paid by the “Fade to Black” rockers. Money well spent as the movie is being produced by Charlotte Huggins and directed by Nimrod Antal. Charlotte Huggins is one of the most prolific producers of 3D films. She has some big budget movies as portfolio: “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”. We can expect a great 3D movie with some interesting visual effects. The 3D movie is called “Some Kind of Monster” and will come to the big screens in the summer of 2013.
