Movies at the U.S. Box Office Breaks past Holiday records

A new Thanksgiving record has been set by these movies at the domestic box office broke in spite of a disappointing performance by DreamWorks Animation’s latest movie.

During the holiday season i.e. from Wednesday to Sunday, the box office accumulated $290 million surpassing an all time high of $273 million back in 2009. The final installment of the Twilight Saga “Breaking Dawn – Part 2″ garnered a mammoth $64 million during the holiday period taking the film’s domestic total to $227 million. The movie accumulated another $350 million at the overseas box office.

The latest James Bond flick “Skyfall” in its 2nd week of release has accumulated $51 million and is ranked right after the new Twilight movie. “The movie has $790 million overall. Of the mammoth $790 million, the movie made $221.7 million in North America.
