The Hollywood film superstar Tom Cruise, 59, who is currently in the UK filming scenes for Mission: Impossible 7, has thousands of pounds worth of luggage stolen. Thieves took his bodyguard’s £100,000 BMW while it was parked outside The Grand Hotel in Birmingham and the luggage was inside. The car is not believed to have been in the safe and barrier-protected parking lot recommended by the hotel. The thieves were able to steal the car in only minutes after it was left outside the hotel. They used a scanner to clone the signal from the vehicle’s ignition fob. The car was recovered by police because it was equipped with an electronic tracking device but everything inside it had gone. Modern vehicles with keyless entry and ignition fobs are becoming increasingly vulnerable to “relay thieves” using wireless transmitters.
Tom Cruise had some other frustrating incidents being in the UK. At a some time, he found his crew breaking the rules of social distance in pandemic and this knowing that Mission: Impossible 7 was originally scheduled to release in November last year, but it was then delayed, because of the coronavirus pandemic, to May 2022. Tom Cruise, one of the highest-paid actors in the world, has received three Golden Globe Awards and three nominations for Academy Awards. Cruise is noted as having negotiated some of the most lucrative film deals in Hollywood, and was described in 2005 by Hollywood economist Edward Jay Epstein as “one of the most powerful – and richest – forces in Hollywood.” He is an outspoken advocate for the Church of Scientology.
