After she collapsed on the sidewalk the suspect fled the scene. She texted two friends and provided a sketch of the man, who was headed toward Hollywood Boulevard. One of her friends was able to track the homeless man down following him until police officers arrived. The LAPD arrested a 45-year-old white man, David Merck, on suspicion of felony battery and he is in jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
