Mick Jagger undergone heart surgery

“Thank you everyone for all your messages of support, I’m feeling much better now and on the mend –  and also a huge thank you to all the hospital staff for doing a superb job,” he tweeted on Friday afternoon. The 75-year-old rocker underwent the operation in New York City after being diagnosed with an undisclosed illness. Doctors performed a minimally invasive transcatheter aortic valve replacement. This is an increasingly widely-used alternative to surgical valve replacement that requires the chest to be opened. It typically allows for shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery times.

Due to Jagger’s heart condition, the Rolling Stones had to postpone their American and Canadian tour. “Mick has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time, as he needs medical treatment,” the band said on its website. The tour is now expected to begin in July. Jagger follows a healthy diet, runs, and works out frequently. He is a man who has had a long and hugely successful career.
