Universal Pictures has announced the studio is developing an untitled film about the pop star, that Madonna, now 62, after nearly four decades of music career . She will direct and co-write it with Juno scribe Diablo Cody. The movie will follow the entertainer’s rise to prominence as the culture-shaping musician, actress, director, author, and entrepreneur she is today. She declared this will be about “the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world”. But first, about the music. „It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision. (…)Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive, ” she added.
The film will be produced by Amy Pascal, the former Sony Pictures chief who produced A League of their Own, the 1992 film co-starring Madonna. Sara Zambreno and Madonna’s longtime manager, Guy Oseary, are on board as executive producers as well. Madonna has sold 335 million records worldwide in her career. In a recent Instagram Live, Madonna said that the movie will touch on her songwriting, singing and acting. The curtain of her life was also pulled back in 1991 with the documentary “Truth or Dare.”
