According to authorities Steven Sheerer also faces charges of child endangerment. According to Cindi Berger, O’Donnell’s spokeswoman, 25-year-old Sheerer was involved with a minor, and Rosie’s concern has been and always will be the health, safety and well-being of her daughter… Rosie is profoundly appreciative for the work the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has done and the diligence of the local police.”
The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office refused to identify the victim by name and instead only citied her by her age. However the name of the star’s daughter was later confirmed by the spokeswoman who clarified that Chelsea was the missing teen daughter that was finally found. Prosecutors explained that they were able to gather all the needed evidence after they have obtained Chelsea’s cellphone, having the mother’s consent. After seeing that for the past several weeks “inappropriate communications” took place between Steven Sheerer and the minor the man was arrested.
