She had been working at NBC News since 2011 and during this time she did stories on organizations and on people that did public work. The 34 year old future mother described in a Facebook post:
“When I joined the NBC family in 2011, I had long respected NBC’s commitment to telling the stories of ‘ordinary people doing extraordinary things.’ I loved watching the ‘Making a Difference’ stories about remarkable people and organizations making a profound difference in our country and our world. I am grateful NBC gave me the opportunity to continue this important legacy.”
The daughter of Hillary Rodham and Bill Clinton was initially hired to do stories for the “Rock Center” magazine but as that program got cancelled she continued down the reporter path. According to a report from Politico magazine from this year NBC paid her a $600000 per year salary.
NBC also confirmed Chelsea Clinton’s departure. Alex Wallace, the NBC News senior vice president related: “We are thankful for all of Chelsea’s contributions to NBC News over the past 3 years. Chelsea’s storytelling inspired people across the country and showcased the real power we have as individuals to make a difference in our communities. While she will be missed, we look forward to working with her in the future.”
