Actor James Garner passed away at 86, in Los Angeles


His successful films included The Thrill of It All, Move Over, Darling, The Americanization of Emily, Victor Victoria, Murphy’s Romance. He appeared in the automobile racing movie Grand Prix (1966).In  the western mode, he co-starred with the young Bruce Willis in Sunset. Most of his appearances were in numerous TV movies. Garner was nominated for the Emmy for best actor in the drama series for five consecutive years, winning in 1977. On November 1, 2011, Simon & Schuster published Garner’s autobiography The Garner Files: A Memoir. He revealed inside that he smoked marijuana starting as a teenager. In February 2005, he received the Screen Actors Guild’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Many people reacted after James Garber’s death: “My heart just broke. There are few people on this planet I have adored as much as Jimmy Garner. I cherish every moment I spent with him and relive them over and over in my head. He was a diamond.” saud one of them, Sally Field, who co-starred with Garner in the 1985 film “Murphy’s Romance.
