Known for her role as Cassandra Morell, the sister of Alexis Colby, on the American opera “Dinasty”, she had many roles in television shows, including as The Rani, a rebel Time Lady, in the Science Fiction series “Doctor Who”. The British actress had prominent roles in the ‘80s series Howard’ Way and Triangle. In the 1990s she also starred in the comedy show “Asolutely Fabukous”, as Jackie. One of her final public appearances was in An Evening With Kate O’Mara, in London, last October. Her latest message to the world was twitted on March 17 when she wrote: “Thank you so much for your king tweets”. A lot of reactions at her death from her friends and colleagues also appeared on Twitter:
“Oh my goodness. Kate O’Mara is no longer with us. Sad sad news. A delightful, committed and talented lady and actress. We are the poorer” (Colin Baker) “Farewell to the much underrated & glorious Kate O’Mara. Had the pleasure of working with her on ‘Nebulous’. Deft, funny & delightful.” (Mark Gatiss) “Kate O’Mara is no more. Only 74! I loved every encounter I had with her. Today doesn’t seem so sunny.” (Graham Norton)
