Paul Walker's death was also confirmed via his official Facebook and Twitter accounts:

We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news". Paul Walker was the passenger in a Porsche that was going to a charity event held for the actor's organization Reach Out Worldwide. The driver's identity, which was not yet officially released by Police, is according to some rumors Roger Rodas. Rodas is the owner of Paul Walker's auto racing team Always Evolving.
The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department confirmed that the two people in the car were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the north of Los Angeles at around 3:30pm. Sheriff's Deputy Kim Manatt detailed the situation in a statement: "When they arrived, deputies found the vehicle engulfed in flames. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded, extinguished the fire and subsequently located two victims inside the vehicle"
