Member of Parliament from Samajwadi Party MP, Mrs. Jaya Bachchan who also happens to be the wife of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bacchan has stated that she would make an appeal to the Maharashtra governor K Sankarnarayanan to pardon Mr. Sanjay Dutt. The conviction against Sanjay Dutt was upheld by the Supreme Court but the period of sentence was reduced from 6 to 5 years. Sanjay Dutt already served 1 and half years of jail. Thus, he would be required to serve 3 and half years of the jail term.
Almost Rs. 250 crore worth projects involving “Sanju Baba” are at stake. His own production house that he set up with his wife Maanayata will also suffer a major setback if he eventually ends up serving the jail term.
