Tony Sheridan, Beatles ‘Mentor’ Dies

During the early days of the group in Hamburg, they performed as his backing band. Sheridan has been described as the catalyst that helped the Beatles rise to stardom. German media reports indicate that he does on Saturday after battling with illness for a long time. On his website, Paul McCartney has said that Sheridan was an amazing guy and they worked together in Hamburg during the early days.

He further said that they would stay up late watching his performances and that he always enjoyed his style. He concluded by saying that he is going to be greatly missed. During the 50th Hamburg Star legendary celebrations, Sheridan played his music. During his late years, he was living with Anna Sievers, his third wife in house found in north Germany. Anna died in 2011 from cancer. He had ten top German singles.
