Mark Hurd from Oracle passed away

Hurd took a leave of absence from Oracle  a month ago for unspecified medical reasons. He had been a chief executive and board director at the company since 2014. Since Hurd’s arrival, the company has greatly expanded its cloud computing portfolio. Hurd was also serving as vice chairman of the Baylor Board of Regents and was a member of the board’s Executive Committee. He was honored with the school’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2008, a Baylor Legacy Award in 2012, and the 2012-2013 for his philanthropic and personal involvement with the University.

It’s unclear what will happen at the head of Oracle going forward but as it stands right now Safra Catz and Larry Ellison are still managing things at the company. Oracle Corporation is an American multinational computer technology corporation which is selling database software and technology, cloud engineered systems and enterprise software products.
