Kevin Systrom, Instragram’s co-founder, had the following to say: “Because of the feedback we have heard from you, we are reverting this advertising section to the original version that has been in effect since we launched the service in October 2010”.
The public reaction generated when Instagram changed its TOS earlier this week was somehow justified considering there were a lot of people saying Instagram changed its terms of service in order to be able to sell user uploaded photos. Instagram denied such claims from the very start and after a tough week ended up in reverting to the old Terms of Service.
Instagram declared that it will update the advertising section of its TOS when it will find the right wording. The company will be extra careful before it tries to pitch its new advertising products and areas to its current consumers.
