A “game-changer for the headset industry” is expected to come as announcement from Apple on January 2023, according analysts. It’s about the Apple’s mixed reality headset, estimated to be its most complicated product ever. This is also predicted to “boost the demand for immersive gaming/multimedia entertainment.” The device will use parts from multiple external suppliers. Apple hasn’t confirmed any details about its headset. Haowever it’s known the headset will run on a 5nm TSMC chip (with similar power to the M1), will feature two 8K displays, and will incorporate 14 cameras. As about the price, it’s expected to be at around $3,000. Tech industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has offered the most specific prediction about the future Apple release, in a blog post. He also noted that the device would support “video see-thru.” It was said Apple is in the late stages of testing and preparing the device. The demand for virtual and augmented reality in the gaming industry is growing. Competitors in the VR industry are supposed to emulate Apple’s headset once it is launched.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has been vocal about his excitement about AR. “I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities we’ve seen in this space, and sort of stay tuned and you’ll see what we have to offer,” Cook told media. It’s estimated Apple will begin taking orders for the new headset in second quarter 2023.
