Nestle is not the first company that uses GPS to track clients. Unilever was the first to use this method to give 50 prizes to shoppers of a box of laundry soap.

According to the company the GPS device is automatically activated when the wrapper of the KitKat wafer is opened. When the GPS device is turned on Nestle is automatically notified in order to send a team to locate the new winner.

Nestle’s prize is close to $16000 and a winner will receive a check on this amount within 24 hours from opening a KitKat wrapper from a winning KitKat wafer. The GPS will be placed on four types of selected KitKat wafers. It will be impossible to tell apart a winning wafer from a normal one.
