“While small in number, these reviews can significantly undermine the trust that consumers and the vast majority of sellers and manufacturers place in Amazon, which in turn tarnishes Amazon’s brand,” the company said in its complaint. Amazon investigated such services providers even purchasing ake customer reviews on Fiverr from people who promised five-star ratings and offered to allow purchasers to write reviews. Because gigs are offered at Fiverr without revealing the identity of providers, both companies have to work together to complete the list of names. “We actively remove services that violate our terms of use, and respond promptly to any reports of inappropriate content,” a Fiverr representative said to the media.
