Facebook hasn’t made public any details regarding its recent transaction. The Israeli company Face.com is rumored to have been bought for $100 million. Applying the existing technology can have a wide range of uses.
For example the Facebook app could automatically suggest tags based on the photos you take and automatically upload them to your Facebook profile at a click of a button.
Face.com engineers are eager and happy to have joined Facebook. More opportunities will be presented while the technology can be widely used inside Facebook.
