Another 10 000 jobs could be gone by the end of next years if things do not improve.
Nokia fired people from Germany, Canada, Finland and from other important sites. It was a difficult choice for Nokia which already closed a whole site in Cluj, Romania in September 2011. 2200 people remained without a job then and it seems things are only getting worst for the big GSM manufacturer.
On the other hand Nokia already has plans to gain the trust of its users and become a big name on the smartphone market in order to get back on its feet. Nokia Lumia was one of the phones that were intended to get a share of the premium smartphone market. Will phones like Lumia help Nokia? Time will tell.
