The four-story structures that have no windows were initially believed to be retail spaces for Google's newest innovative product: Google Glass.
These initial rumors were confirmed after it was revealed that Google does indeed plan to have these outposts used as floating retail points for Google Glass. The search engine giant will deploy next year their new devices to the general public.
The fancy structures people from San Francisco and Technoratti lately talked about include dazzling showrooms and at the top a party deck that will contain everything needed to make them compete with a Las Vegas resort. The floating barges can be easily taken apart so that they can be assembled and disassembled at will. The parts can be placed on trucks, barges or even on rail cars and can then be moved to any other location where they can easily be assembled back.
