iOS email management startup Mailbox acquired by Dropbox

Mailbox features intuitive gestures that come in complete harmony with iOS slick interface design. Apple’s default email client on its iOS devices lacked the features Mailbox currently provides. But Apple didn’t decide to buy Mailbox in time.

Apple reportedly thought whether it should buy Mailbox or not behind closed doors. No one knows what was the reason behind Apple’s decision to pass. Let’s just hope the price wasn’t the issue.

Dropbox already made an announcement on their official blog about the acquisition. There are big plans for Mailbox which had similar goals as Dropbox.

The sum for which Mailbox was acquired was not disclosed. Mailbox will be able to grow even faster by joining forces with the larger startup even though Dropbox is a company much smaller than Apple or Google.
