Star Trek actor Aron Eisenberg has died aged 50, just months after he married in secret. He was playing Ferengi Nog in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
“He was an intelligent, humble, funny, emphatic soul. He sought to live his life with integrity and truth,” his widow, Malissa Longo, wrote on Facebook. Aron is said to have had a long struggle with health problems, born with just one defective kidney and also suffering two successive transplants. Among those who paid tribute to Eisenberg was Deep Space Nine co-star Armin Shimerman. "I have lost a great friend and the world has lost a great heart," he wrote on Twitter. „Nog... the greatest Ferengi. Rest in peace Aron,” Ashley Storrie wrote. Many others remembered Aron. The actor worked in Hollywood during the ‘80s and ‘90s.
His character Nog, who appeared for all seven seasons, was a member of the alien race Ferengi, and joined Starfleet after a recommendation from Captain Sisko. Nog was a fantastic character. Eisenberg also appeared in the TV movie “Amityville: The Evil Escapes” and features “The Liars’ Club,” “Beverly Hills Brats,” “Playroom” and “The Horror Show.” He guested on TV shows including “The Wonder Years,” “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose” and “Tales from the Crypt.”
