Ron Paul Keeps Focus on White House for 2012 Race

Longtime congressman and libertarian Ron Paul, who made a spirited campaign for the office of president in 2008, revealed that he is still interested in taking another shot at the White House in the inevitable 2012 just as his fellows at the Republican Party are lining up candidates who can deliver a strong challenge against President Barack Obama. In the last presidential race, the Texas congressman gained a lively following through the internet. In late 2007, he outraised his Republican rivals on attracting campaign donations thanks to the internet. Along the way his grassroots social networking helped him connect with voters who have gotten tired of polarized politics and political bickering.

Other than focusing on the White House, Paul is keeping track of the strength of the U.S. Dollar and stated that he will eventually make a decision before joining the 2012 race or not. Just as he contemplates on a presidential campaign, Paul acknowledged his high ranking among prospects for one of Texas’ seats in the U.S. Senate. Ironically, his son Rand (representing Kentucky) is currently serving as a U.S. Senator. Joining his son in the Senate is a possibility, the 75-year-old congressman said.

A doctor by profession, Paul is well known for his political causes and his sensible approach to issues. Some even declared him as the face of liberty in today’s polarized political environment. In other news, Paul declared that public pressure is needed to make government work and he stated that “what we need is more WikiLeaks on the Federal Reserve.” To this day, the congressman continues to be a strong critic on the legality and function of the Fed.
